Campania District School News – Written by Student Leader Team
What has been happening so far?…
We had house meetings for Laburnum and Churchill on Tuesday and practised our house chants for the swimming carnival that is coming up on Wednesday in week 7. For the swimming carnival, students will be heading to Oatlands Pool to race. All primary students are attending and the high school students have been given the option to opt in. Events will include: freestyle, noodle race, breaststroke, kickboard race, doggy paddle and more. Wearing of house colours is encouraged!
On Wednesday, the Year 10s went to the ‘RYDA’ Safe Driver Program at Claremont College. They engaged in a range of workshops, including being investigators and trying to uncover how a car accident occurred and how it could have been avoided. They listened to a presentation by someone whose life has been impacted by reckless driving and they also watched a car at different speeds and assessed its impact on a mannequin. It was very eye-opening and we hope the year 10s have taken something valuable from this session whilst they start their own process of obtaining their licenses.
The year 10 student leaders have been raising money for their celebration dinner and end-of-year activity day by selling hot drinks to teachers. They have received lots of positive feedback on their coffee making skills!
What is coming up?...
We have our Book Week celebration on Thursday. We cannot wait to see everyone in their costumes and with their books. It is always so much fun!
The year 3/4 class are going to Richmond on Friday to see the gaol and model village for their HASS (history and social sciences) subject.
On Tuesday the 27th from 5:30 – 6:30pm we have the secondary (7-12) information evening where we will be giving families tours of our facilities and answering questions about our high school and college. There will be meet and greets with staff and students and there will be a light supper provided. All are welcome!
Please RSVP using the QR code on the poster.
Thanks,
The Student Leadership Team.
We hope parents and carers have been enjoying the insights into students’ learning that we’ve shared through Seesaw so far this year. We encourage parents/carers to actively engage with teachers via Seesaw messages or by calling the school office to arrange a time for a conversation about progress and wellbeing.
Although there are no reports or formal parent-teacher meetings scheduled for Term 3, we believe regular communication is key to supporting education. We encourage parents/carers to reach out for a chat anytime.
